A new season is approaching (oh how I love you, fall), which means skinny jeans, over the knee boots, leggings and tunics are back in! It’s time to get motivated so you feel great in your fall fashion favorites.

As I feel the weather getting cooler, I can’t help but smile thinking about bringing out all of my favorite fall pieces. Although it is a daunting task, I am looking forward to reorganizing my closet and replacing all my summer favorites (see you next year!) for my new fall favs. And after just purchasing my copy of “Body by Bethenny” (see link below), I am ready to go. Give me some of that if she can look that amazing 3 months after having a baby!

Every season I promise myself that I will get in shape so that I feel comfortable and confident in all the looks I want to wear. And although I love taking chances with my fashion statements, feeling confident is of utmost importance in pulling them off. How do we achieve that, you ask? Get in shape! (Duh.)

Easier said than done. It is common knowledge that eating healthy and exercising are key to getting in shape; however, the sugar and carb gods are out to get each and every one of us. How easy is it to grab a muffin or donut at work in the morning? Let’s face it- we all run late in the mornings, and they are so sweet and delicious and right there! Even harder is it when you miss breakfast, don’t have time to pack lunch and have to go to your work cafe in between meetings. While your mind is busy thinking about when, where and who that meeting is with, it most likely isn’t spending time considering your healthiest options (that piece of pizza or those chicken fingers will be quick and easy). Sound familiar?

I have found that the best way to stay motivated is to set a goal and include a friend. It is so much easier when you have someone there to remind you not to eat the fries, to hit the gym after work, or to take a walk with you on the weekends. By switching up your routine, it is harder to get bored and easier to stay motivated. Nothing to do Saturday afternoon? Walk around the city (you could incorporate shopping in this exercise!), walk to the park or play a sport with your friends. Not hungover? Hit up the gym nice and early and get your workout out of the way.

Whatever works for you, remind yourself that it will eventually pay off. Pack your lunch the night before (you’ll save money and calories by packing yourself). Can’t make it to the gym? Turn on Exercise TV and choose a fun work out whenever you have time. Although the odds are against us, with a little motivation and discipline, we can make it work! And if you are still desperate for motivation, just print out the picture above. Who doesn’t want those abs?!

Hey, its worth a shot…

Think about it: Can you get in shape? I triple dog dare you.
